About Bjorn Vineyards
Winemaking to me should be kept simple.
I believe in the age old philosophy that great wines are made in the vineyard.
Attentive farming and careful winemaking have led to wines that are truly expressive.
Wines are a little bit like mother nature’s fingerprints, reminding us for years about events in the growing season of past vintages.
Fresh fruit, wild mountain cherry, chocolate and hints of the forest surrounding the vineyard are common flavors of these wines. They vary from vintage to vintage, but they are all cousins. Strong, vibrant, and lively like the location that they come from.
My brothers and I were always curious about all things biological. We moved to the woods on Howell Mountain 46 years ago and as a wide-eyed boy, I was in love.
Multiple year-round springs, giant Redwoods, and all sorts of wildlife, make this a very special spot. We feel blessed to live here.
In 2002, we planted a 3-acre Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard to replace a very old orchard and began tending vines and making wine.
